 LiTTLE Buds Day Camp

This video provides a good introduction to who and what Camp Concepts is all about.

We believe our youngest Little Bud campers (ages two, three, four, and five)  have a powerful urge and curiosity to learn about themselves and the world around them. The best opportunities for learning come from socialization, exploration, and discovery all of which are highlights of our established summer camp program. This is why our “Little Buds” have their own unique and designated program to provide a developmentally & age appropriate program in a safe and nurturing environment. This well-balanced day camp program provides campers with the social, emotional and physical stimulation that is essential for this age group.  Click here to take a look at our 'Day in the life of a Little Bud' .  Our mature and caring staff is a nurturing group made up of adults who work in the child care field, college students and some teenagers. In many ways, because of the unique developmental and social needs of our Little Buds age group, it is like a separate camp entity.  However, our youngest (and cutest campers) are a big hit with the older campers when they are out and about campus making it a wonderful community of campers ages 2-14!

Is my 5 year old prepared & ready to move up to the full-week program at Big Oak Day Camp?  A transitin question many parents struggle with.  Read our thoughts & observations  here.

Miss Ashley

Ms. Ashley is returning for her 9th year of directing our adorable Little Buds.  Having already spent 11 years prior working with this age group in the summer camp setting, she brings knowledge and experience to our team. Ashley’s educational preparation began when with her degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Bucknell University.  More recently, she earned her Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University. Ashley is a middle school Science teacher at the Center for Student Learning Charter School.  When Ashley is not having fun with Little Buds you can find her coaching girls’ softball for one of three programs in which she is actively involved. Ms. Ashley's favorite leisure activity is traveling and exploring different parts of the world.

We are excited to have Ms. Ashley continue in her leadership role of Little Buds.  You can email Ashley at LittleBuds@CampConcepts.org

Miss Jen

Miss Jen is excited to begin her 7th year as assistant director in Little Buds.  She has been with the Little Buds for 14 years.  Miss Jen graduated from DeSales University with a degree in Early Childhood Education and earned her master’s degree in Early Childhood Literacy.  Teaching for the past 8 years, Miss Jenn currently teaches 3rd grade after spending 5 years as a Kindergarten teacher. You can email Miss Jen at jennifer.schloo@gmail.com.

When not teaching or working at camp, Miss Jen loves to travel, cook and always enjoys a good book! She is always excited for summer to begin so she can see old camp friends, and meet some new ones.
