Summer Camps for Ages 2 to 14
This video provides a good introduction to who and what Camp Concepts is all about.
Big Oak Day Camp is a summer day camp owned and operated by career teachers that provide programming for children ages 6-14. The mark of a great summer day camp includes dedicated professionals experienced in caring for children, having a diverse program of games and activities, and of course an enthusiastic collection of campers!
Big Oak Day Camp is a Camp Concepts camp. Since 2003, Camp Concepts has been designing, administrating summer camp programs for kids and has a reputation for excellence throughout Bucks County. Our difference- we are educator owned and operated and have earned a reputation for creating a strong community environment where each camper is a known and valued and member.
Our experience is significant. Our administrative team has more than 230 years of combined teaching and camp leadership experience. We proudly put that up against any day camp in PA or the entire United States. Our reputation for creating a strong family-like atmosphere for our staff and campers is what helps make a Big Oak summer memorable. Your child’s Big Oak experience is about feeling like a deeply connected member in our camp community.
Our program of activities is diverse. Aided by our professional experience as Physical Education teachers, we have many classic camp games such as GaGa, Capture the Flag, four square, tennis and pickleball, as well as team challenge games. We also have some ultra-unique games like Tchoukball, BBK, Jurassic Park and more. We believe games and activities are meant to be fun but also used as an avenue to build self-confidence, friendships, and trust in self & others.
We are very proud of our success having been recognized as a Best in Bucks category winner as well as multi-year 'Best in Yardley' winner. We look forward to welcoming your child and family into our camp family.
Our summer camps are deisgned to promote fun, interaction, and personal growth through diverse and innovative but facilitated activities. From team-based games to creative problem-solving tasks, our program encourages collaboration, communication, risk taking, and an incubator for increased self-confidence. We prioritize community and self-discovery over skill acquisition and "winning" and work to ensure every camper feels valued, encouraged, and known. For us, camp is about creating memorable and meaningful moments at camp. We call these M&M moments! These are moments that can be intentionally manufactured or simply happen by circumstance, they help us create an undeniable culture of authentica community at camp.

Groupings - eAt Big Oak, we create co-ed groups based on grade levels to ensure every camper feels included and engaged with their peer grade group. Our two main divisions are Junior Camp (for kids entering grades 1-5) and the Senior Teen camp (for those entering grades 6-9).
A dedicated Lead Counselor guides each group, supported by an Associate Counselor (AC), Junior Counselor (JC), and/or a Counselor-In-Training (CIT). To ensure top-notch experiences, our Activity Leaders- many of whom are career teachers) faciliate the games & activities. This allows our counseling staff to focus on meaningful camper interactions, group managment, and to help maximize the fun.
