Expressions Application Process and Registration
BEFORE NEW CAMPERS CAN BE REGISTERED, THE FOLLOWING STEPS NEED TO BE FOLLOWED.
STEP ONE: NECESSARY DOCUMENTS
We will require an updated IEP/Progress reports if your child has one (just the essential pages) as well as the Child History Form, Permission to Exchange Information Form, and the Behavioral Contract. You can email this information to firstname.lastname@example.org or mail to Camp Concepts, P.O. Box 304, Jamison, Pa. 18929. (Note- as of July 2015, this is a new business mailing address.)
STEP TWO: INTERVIEW
Once all necessary paperwork has been received, you will be contacted to set up an interview that will include parent and child with our Director of Expressions. If you do not receive a call to make an appointment, please email the Director, Debbie Kirk, at Expressions@CampConcepts.org, to make sure the paperwork has been received and to set up an appointment. We make every effort to promptly contact you, however, please contact us if you have not heard from us. This is also an informational meeting that will give you the opportunity to meet the Director, have questions answered and to see if the program will be a beneficial environment for your child.
STEP THREE: REGISTER
(Please note: there is a two-week minimum registration required)
Once you have been accepted, select the green button below to REGISTER AND PAY ONLINE.
REGISTER ONLINE NOW
A $200 non-refundable deposit and registration/online fee is required. Total balance of camp tuition is due no later than May 31st unless special arrangements have been made with our Account Services manager, Linda Schloo. She can be contacted at email@example.com or 215-285-2537. Should you require any assistance in registration, please contact Linda and she can assist you.
STEP FOUR: GRANTS/SCHOLARSHIPS
If you will need assistance in funding camp, there are many organizations that provide scholarship and grants. The available funds are limited so apply as early as possible to as many organizations as possible. While we try and offer specials, discounts and internal scholarships, are resources are limited and you should not rely on us as your primary aid. If you would like to apply for Camp Concepts scholarship, please follow the information in the link and send the request to Linda at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Grants & Scholarships Information
Camp Concepts is a small, family-owned company. As parents of five children, Ruth and I know that funding summer programs for children is expensive. This becomes an even greater financial burden when parents have expenses related to the medical costs for children with special needs. We do our best to help as many families as possible afford the summer camp experience. Due to our size, we simply cannot be the only source of grant or scholarship funding. Parents should be proactive and seek funds from their church, local organizations, national organizations etc. The Department of Public Welfare and Bucks County Special Needs offer grants, and possibly others. Both of these programs have due dates and timelines to follow. In all cases, parents should not expect more than 50% scholarship. We believe that there is an important commitment and ownership that comes from making this investment. We’ll do our best to secure grant funds but we need everyone to help out.
Guidelines for Applying to Camp Concepts for Financial Aid
Expressions Day Camp is a unique program designed to reach a population of very special children. As such, the operating costs of providing such a specialized program are high. We have never increased our camp tuition and we try to attract qualified and dedicated employees. Because we are not a “non-profit” company seeking grants that might help build a general scholarship fund is difficult. Any additional financial aid we can provide comes directly out of our operating budget that is totally tuition driven.
Our inability to provide financial need for all of the requests should not be interpreted as for a lack of concern or caring for the families applying or for the children who would benefit. We simply cannot offer as much need as is requested.
For those who feel they need financial aid, we ask that families fill out and submit the grant request form. Financial aid requests can only be submitted for those who have already gone through the initial interview process and who have been accepted to register for camp. The committee does consider the length of camp stay for those families who are signed up.
Upon receipt of the above information, we will consider each and determine whether or not we can be of any assistance.
AGAIN, PLEASE DO NOT RELY UPON US FOR YOUR PRIMARY FINANCIAL AID PACKAGE. It is our hope that, by working together, we can make “Expressions” accessible to any child who would benefit from our program.
Additional suggestions for aid:
You or your spouse’s employer
Bucks County Special Needs
Lions Club, VFW, American Legion, Kiwanis, Shriner’s Association or other similar organizations
Your local church or place of worship
Kelly Anne Dolan Fund
All recipients are expected to write a letter of thanks before the end of camp to the organization responsible for the grant or scholarship.
You are already accepted into the program. No need to set up another interview. Simply log onto the Camp Concepts website using your online registration and password information from last year. (If you cannot remember your password or login information or are having difficulty logging in, please contact Account Services: Linda Schloo at 215-285-2537 or email her at Accounts@CampConcepts.org.) Once logged in, you can select your weeks, pay your $200 non-refundable deposit and $25 application fee to hold your spot at camp. Total balance of camp tuition is due no later than May 31. If you are awaiting scholarship monies it is advisable that you pay the entire camp tuition and, once the scholarship check arrives, we will reimburse you directly.
If for whatever reason your son or daughter has had a change in diagnosis, evaluation or has experienced a significant change in behavior since the previous summer with us, please contact our director to discuss. Our goal is to provide the best care and service to your child and the more we know about them, the better our care can be.
Next, you will need to provide a copy of the camper’s current IEP Goal Page and the Accommodation Page. Also, please sign a new Behavioral Contract and a new Permission to Exchange Information Form. You can mail these to Camp Concepts, P.O. Box 304, Jamison, Pa. 18929 or scan and email to Linda Schloo, Account Services at email@example.com.
