2017 8 weeks of Summer camp at Expressions Day Camp at Big Oak will be held from June 26-August 18.
*Note: Camp is closed on Tuesday, July 4.
The camp day runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Because Expressions is a program designed to teach and reinforce prosocial behaviors, we strongly recommend campers attend at least for two consecutive weeks in order to provide greater consistency and reinforcement in learning, allow for a smooth transition period, and ultimately achieve the most positive results for each camper.
We realize the cost of affording a quality summer camp program for your son or daughter is expensive. We seek to hire only those individuals who have received specialized training and education for working with our kids.
Campus Tours/Information Session
Visit us. Meet us and see our facility. Parish Center gymnasium at St. John’s The Evangelist campus.
We had 4 open house events (Sundays 4:00 p.m. February 12, March 26, April 23 and May 21) Due to our preparations to open camp we will not be having additional open house events.
Open house/tour programs start promptly and involve a presentation and introduction as well as activities for your children. Please arrive a few minutes early to register.
Programs will last about 1 hour. Please email the director Debbie Kirk prior to the open house you plan to attend: Expressions@CampConcepts.org
We recognize the financial strain that can accompany the desire to afford summer camp. We do our best to provide help to our families. As a result we do internally provide some financial help through our need based grant program. Applications must be submitted. Please click here to access our Grant Application form. Priority will be given to those families who demonstrate financial need and to those who are signing up for four or more weeks. This can be combined with our multi week seasonal multi-week discounts as well. Because we are a small family owned business, please do not rely on us as your only grant options.

Expressions Grants and Scholarships
Camp Concepts is a small, family-owned company. As parents of five children, Ruth and I know that funding summer programs for children is expensive. This becomes an even greater financial burden when parents have expenses related to the medical costs for children with special needs. We do our best to help as many families as possible afford the summer camp experience. Due to our size, we simply cannot be the only source of grant or scholarship funding. Parents should be proactive and seek funds from their church, local organizations, national organizations etc. The Department of Public Welfare and Bucks County Special Needs offer grants, and possibly others. Both of these programs have due dates and timelines to follow. In all cases, parents should not expect more than 50% scholarship. We believe that there is an important commitment and ownership that comes from making this investment. We’ll do our best to secure grant funds but we need everyone to help out.
Guidelines for Applying to Camp Concepts for Financial Aid
Expressions Day Camp is a unique program designed to reach a population of very special children. As such, the operating costs of providing such a specialized program are high. We have never increased our camp tuition and we try to attract qualified and dedicated employees. Because we are not a “non-profit” company seeking grants that might help build a general scholarship fund is difficult. Any additional financial aid we can provide comes directly out of our operating budget that is totally tuition driven.
Our inability to provide financial need for all of the requests should not be interpreted as for a lack of concern or caring for the families applying or for the children who would benefit. We simply cannot offer as much need as is requested.
For those who feel they need financial aid, we ask that families fill out and submit the grant request form.
Upon receipt of the above information, we will consider each and determine whether or not we can be of any assistance.
AGAIN, PLEASE DO NOT RELY UPON US FOR YOUR PRIMARY FINANCIAL AID PACKAGE. It is our hope that, by working together, we can make “Expressions” accessible to any child who would benefit from our program.
Additional suggestions for aid:
- Bureau of Autism Affairs
- Your or your spouse’s employer
- Bucks County Special Needs
- Lions Club, VFW, American Legion, Kiwanis, Shriner’s Association or other similar organizations
- Your local church or place of worship
- ACT TODAY!
- Kelly Anne Dolan Fund
All recipients are expected to write a letter of thanks before the end of camp to the organization responsible for the grant or scholarship.
Many of our campers qualify for ESY through their school district. In most cases, ESY programs are not 5 days long. We offer a unique opportunity to still enjoy camp on FANTASTIC FRIDAYS (or others days according to your ESY) This way your child can still gain valuable social skills strengthening when not involved in ESY. You can sign up for 2 or more Fantastic Fridays for only $99 each day (includes lunch) or you can save by signing up for all 8. For those who sign up for 4 or more Fantastic Fridays and then want to add full weeks after the completion of ESY, please contact our Account Services Manager, Linda Schloo, for additional discounted savings!
There is an additional discount for those campers who sign up for 7 or all 8 weeks of camp. Please speak to Account Services, Linda Schloo for details: Accounts@CampConcepts.org or 215-285-2537.
A $15 sibling discount will be applied for the second and subsequent members registering from the same family.
Extended Day Care
Extended day care is available until 5:30 p.m. for an additional fee of $75 per week. Extended care activities vary from day to day. Snack is included. For your convenience, extended care can be arranged on an as-needed basis for $25 per day.
Camp Participation Policies
View Camp Participation Policies, including information about deposits and refunds, liability, behavior, camper removal, medical needs, and off-campus transportation.
To assist families who may live a distance from campus, and providing we have sufficient interest, we can arrange transportation in our 15-passenger SPRINTER van. Typically we establish a few central pickup/drop off locations that serve as many campers as possible. Transportation routes are designed once we have an idea of who needs the service. If you feel you may be in need of transportation to/from camp, please email Linda at Accounts@CampConcepts.org. This service is intended to provide families with an easy and convenient transport service. The weekly cost of this service is an additional $110 per week. For questions about this service, please contact Account Services Manager, Linda Schloo at 215-285-2537 or email her at Accounts@CampConcepts.org.
