Blast and Explosion

A new week of extended summer day camp on the beautiful George School campus.

Monday-Friday, August 16-20, 2010

9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

For those accustomed to a typical week at George School Day Camp, you will notice some obvious differences to this exciting week of day camp activities.

How is this week different from a week at GSDC?

Campers will be placed in co-ed cluster age groups. This means boys and girls will be involved in some large group games and activities with kids of similar ages. We use this method for our week of Summer Explosion and have found it to be a nice change from same age, same gender groupings. Also, Summer Blast will offer campers more freedom in selecting specific activities of choice called FUNSHOPS. SUMMER BLAST allows campers to design a portion of their schedule for 2 one-hour FUNSHOPS. A Funshop is a one hour "workshop" that provides specific instruction in a variety of interest areas. Funshops occur once in the morning and once in the afternoon.

How is this week similar to a week at GSDC?

Same great campus. Campers will continue to use and explore the vast beauty of the 265 acre campus of George School.
Same great cafeteria lunches. Campers are treated to a nutritious and plentiful lunch in the George School full service cafeteria. Campers may continue to choose from a variety of hot entrée items, fresh salad bar, deli bar, breads and bagels, homemade desserts, fresh fruit and plenty of beverage options. Daily sidebars often include pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, tacos, yogurt and granola, baked potatoes, and more.
Same great staff. While some will need to head back to college or vacation, many of the fantastic GSDC staff will stay on for another week of fun!
Same great pool! Summer Blast will provide opportunities for campers to enjoy a free swim time to cool off and refresh in the 25-meter, 8-lane indoor pool. No instructional swim will be offered during Summer Blast.

Same commitment to creating an innovative and fun program for kids! Summer Blast is a Camp Concepts venture. Just like our other Camp Concepts camps, Summer Blast remains committed to providing an excellent and innovative program designed to providing excellent summer camp memories for kids.
